I am also a Visiting Fellow at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maastrichtuniversity.nl\/mcel\">Maastricht Centre for European Law.<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>My research interests relate to law and democracy in the EU and national contexts, with a focus on EU institutional and constitutional law. \u00a0In recent years, I have written about soft law, \u00a0lobbying and the revolving door phenomenon, and the national governance of EU structural funds.\u00a0 Methodologically my work is interdisciplinary and socio-legally oriented with an emphasis on qualitative expert interviews.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to my monograph\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.routledge.com\/Adjudicating-New-Governance-Deliberative-Democracy-in-the-European-Union\/Korkea-aho\/p\/book\/9781138241510\"><em>Adjudicating New Governance<\/em>\u00a0(Routledge, 2015)<\/a>, my work has been published in leading journals in my field. I am a co-editor of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomsburyprofessional.com\/uk\/eu-soft-law-in-the-member-states-9781509932054\/\"><em>EU Soft Law in the Member States<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(Hart Publishing, 2021), of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/fi\/academic\/subjects\/law\/european-law\/law-legal-expertise-and-eu-policy-making?format=HB&amp;isbn=9781108830126\"><em>Law, Legal Expertise and EU Policy-Making\u00a0<\/em><\/a>(Cambridge University Press, 2022), of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.e-elgar.com\/shop\/gbp\/research-handbook-on-soft-law-9781839101922.html\"><em>Research Handbook on Soft Law<\/em><\/a> (Edward Elgar, 2023), and of the Oxford Handbook of Lobbying and Its Regulation (OUP, 2026).\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>I have held visiting positions at Lund University (2025), Melbourne Law School (2023), Yale Law School (2019-2020), European University Institute in Florence (2007, 2014-2015), Columbia Law School (2010), and University College London (2008-2009).<\/p>\r\n<p>I have served in expert positions relating to lobbying and its regulation. As of June 2023, I have acted as Vice-Chair of the Advisory Board for the Finnish Transparency Register.
